WORKSHOPS
EPITOME 4.0 - THE ULTIMATE MAKE-UP WORKSHOP 12 HOUR ADVANCED TRAINING EVENT - $475
Three advanced workshops combined in a natural flowing format.
Phase 1 - Beauty Make-up for Film and Television
Phase 2 - Corrective and Camouflage for Fashion Editorial
Phase 3 - Eyes Only / Fashion Fantasy
Create a flawless editorial quality make-up using the most advanced beauty makeup techniques in the industry. Block the face with highlights shadows and color prior to blending with foundation to create a perfect sculpted face for camera. Equalize reflective values and balance the face with perfect color placement. Learn to cover anything quickly with the best camouflage techniques available. Apply eye make-up that creates a strong youthful eye contour and corrects for common problems like prominent or deep set eyes and hooded lids. Create a perfect bullet proof lip and sculpt the brows. We create extremely dramatic eyes that incorporate special effects like color stamping, glossy eyes and glitter effects with no spills. Lashes are applied so they are invisible from any angle and finished to give maximum separation for camera. We merge beauty and theatrical techniques in this fast paced workshop with water color make-up, glitter, gem stones, beads, sequins, cording, leather and feathers. During the final portion, artists can take their work in their own creative direction to build an elaborate fantasy make-up with the eyes being the dominate focal point. The eyes don’t just pop; they explode with color and contrast. This workshop is a must for artists interested in fashion editorial, film and television, bridal or salon make-up. This workshop is 100% application and critique. Our step by step approach allows us to teach advanced technique to beginners and professionals as well.
INVITATION ONLY BOOT CAMP 5 EXTREMELY CHALLENGING DAYS - $2750
When we find a person who has the perfect combination of passion and ability, we may invite them to the most exclusive event of its kind in the industry. During this week long photo shoot, we expose 5 to 7 promising artists to every aspect of make-up for camera in a real time working environment. Our artists are pushed to the limit during this amazing event which can result in a portfolio that rivals industry veterans. The first four days feature stylized looks like Glamour, Pin-up, Gothic Victorian, Anime, Tattooing and Casualty make-up including out of kit effects, prosthetic application and design. The last day is an elaborate mock movie shoot that requires lengthy prep to design each character the script calls for. Actors, Musicians, Designers and Alt Models participate in this one of a kind event that can instantly take an artist to the next level. Every image on our web site is an example of student work captured during this event. The Fundamentals Boot Camp is hosted by Naimie’s Film and Television Beauty Supply four times per year.
BOOT CAMP SELECTION CRITERIA
From the thousands we train around the country, we look for the most talented, creative, passionate students that we can find. No single factor is more important than another. For instance, a person may be hugely talented but lack the passion and drive needed to succeed. A person may have a burning desire to be a make-up artist but lack the creativity necessary to succeed. A person may have all of the factors we look for and lack the physical strength necessary to survive the week. The people we pick usually have a sort of look in their eye that you can spot the first few minutes they begin to do make-up. Our selection process is not perfect. We look for people that we believe are going to do this professionally. We make a huge investment in the people that we choose. They are the people that define RYDER make-up labs and make us so unique.
The images on this site represent the work of our students while attending our invitation only boot camp. Most while still attending cosmetology school.
