Each of our specialized hands-on workshops is designed to help you understand make-up techniques used for camera so you can create the effects you want on your subjects. Since instruction is coupled with constant application, students are able to see immediately what each technique is doing for the face or body. Personal attention and critique ensures that you’re able to modify your work to get the desired results.
BEAUTY MAKE-UP FOR FILM AND TELEVISION
A great workshop for beginners as well as experienced artists who want to strengthen their work. We go step by step through the entire beauty make-up process. Apply a flawless foundation, model the face with highlight, apply a beautiful eye shadow that can work for any eye shape, mascara, a natural glowing blush, corrective eyebrow and lip techniques, set and finish the face. We review matching reflective values of the face and body, techniques to soften transitions between highlights and shadows and more. Emphasis is placed on proper highlighting and brush stroke techniques.

EYES ONLY - ADVANCED
Explore the most elaborate and dramatic eye make-up techniques used in film and print. Expanding on the techniques learned in our Beauty Make-up workshop, we incorporate water color make-up, individual lashes, glitter, gem stones and other exciting add-ons to create a variety of looks worthy of the world’s most famous eyes. This workshop is not intended for beginners, but its simple step by step format is easy to understand.

CORRECTIVE AND CAMOUFLAGE
Highlighting and shading are the fundamentals of make-up application. Learn how to block the face with elaborate highlights and shadows to enhance or diminish various features. Borrowing from the effects of natural light and shadows, we model our subjects to look their best. We apply an elaborate corrective make-up incorporating highlights and shadows as well as a complete make-up using only highlights. We learn about waterproof alcohol activated make-up that’s used to cover scars, birthmarks or tattoos. Then we completely conceal anything with regular make-up.

RYDER make-up labs Fundamentals of Make-up for the Motion Picture Industry workshop is a 50+ hour hands-on training workshop that explores every aspect of realistic make-up for film and video. Apply corrective and camouflage make-up, body make-up, men’s make-up, beauty make-up, casualty make-up and more. Design characters, make them come alive and evolve for the camera. Be able to create any realistic make-up effect called for in a script, then take it all off and do it again — but faster and better. Create, change, improvise, customize, build confidence, develop your personal style, and be able to copy anyone else’s!
No other training program on earth offers the individual attention, intensity, focus, and hard work that enable artists to evolve so quickly and completely. The timid need not apply.
